Janice Daniels - Overwhelmed and Unqualified (Video)

Janice Daniels was asked a simple question.
"When you ran for mayor you said there was a slush fund the mayor and council were hiding that could fund 5 libraries. So where's the money?"

  1. A speaker who spoke Oct 22nd in support of the Mayor really showed how delusional thoughts on our US government could actually get. He thinks the Troy transit center and the Agenda 21 of the Division for Sustainable Development are a linked conspiracy to take over the world. OMG, Daniels and her supporters are so far out there and I must say I will miss the entertainment they have brought to the council meetings.

A comment was made to me by a Birmingham resident that this recall election has left Troy with a black eye. I think every city has it group of extremists and this is what happens when citizens become apathetic to voting. If anything, I hope this wakes up citizens to the realization that their vote is important, but also knowing the facts and who they are voting for are even more important.

    1. Yes, more than ever I have realized with this election to become an INFORMED voter, down to every last trustee for state university and circuit court judge.

I'd like to put in a plug for considering a vote for Dr. Syed Taj, for our US Congress Representative, 11th district. The alternative is Kerry Bentivolio, who is cut from the same rigid ideological cloth as Janice Daniels, et. al. Please, if nothing else, read up on both candidates before casting your vote.

    2. Yes, I agree Bentivolio is a loose cannon, who even has to be controlled by the people trying to have him elected. They are careful when bringing him out to the public because they are not even sure what he will say.

    3. The sad thing is, he will most likely win. Since the recent remapping of the 11th district, and classic case of partisan gerrymandering, puts Bentivolio at an advantage. The GOP primary election write-in candidate Nancy Cassis refused to endorse him, but he does have his right wing extremist supporters. See the article below.

    4. I was at the council meeting as well and the speaker mentioned above said that the Troy Master Plan and UN Plan 21 are identical. He came back to his seat after he spoke and said that I needed to learn about this because "first they will recall the Mayor, then they plan to take over the world". I asked him if there were black helicopters hovering outside (which he didn't think was funny). But this is the way they think!! Also, the recall supporters including our Troy newspapers were called "liberty haters". Oh Boy . . . And yes, Dr. Saj is the better choice - I see TCU is posting anti-Muslim comments against him.

    5. If there was any doubt about Bentivolio and Janice Daniels being mutual fans of each other, check out her pre-election campaign financial statement, filed 10/26/12, on the Oakland County site. Bentivolio made a contribution to her anti-recall fund on 3/14/12.

    6. Anon 12:56: Can you clarify what page that was on? I looked at the entire 18 page document and did not see Bentivolio's name there.

    7. It's under the Campaign to Elect JD report of 10/26, page 2 of 19 of a document that shows many out-of-city contributions to the Mayor.

One of the most interesting points of any document filed for Janice Daniels is that her son has contributed THOUSANDS of dollars to the No Recall and the Cmte. to Elect JD.

    8. I thought that was strange, too. One of those sad cases were a parent takes advantage of their child? It'd be a cold day in hell before I would take my kid's money instead of telling them to save up for their education, house, future family or invest in a Roth IRA.

    9. $6,000 total from her son on 10/1, 10/2 and 10/10. Was her son even still in Troy on those dates, is it his signature on the accompanying campaign contribution sheets?

Is Janice using him as a shield to hide the true donor, who may be a Tea Party PAC?

Either way, taking money from one's kid or using him to hide the identity of the true donors, it's slimey.

    10. Michigan Campaign Finance Act sec 169.269 prohibits a person from making a contribution over $3,400 in an election cycle UNLESS...
      (6) As used in this subsection, “immediate family” means a spouse, parent, brother, sister, son, or daughter. A candidate and members of that candidate's immediate family may not contribute in total to that person's candidate committee an amount that is more than $50,000.00 in value for an election cycle.

Maybe that is why Daniels is using her son as the donor, otherwise the $6,000 coming from a non-immediate family individual would be illegal.

If Bentivolio gets elected, the constituents of the 11th district will be then stuck with yet another no nothing, tea party, ideologue like Daniels. A man that will not share his views with the media and has barely spoken in public. If he is that unresponsive and unwilling to be available to the press and the people that he would represent, then he is does not deserve the office. What is he hiding? Doesn't the 11th district (gerrymandered as it is) deserve some solid representation? Look what Daniels has done to Troy, Bentivolio will do that to the entire 11th. Get ready Livonia et al.
And if Howrylak wins then we will become TEA PARTY TOWN and represented at the state and national level. A tea party that is all talk and no ability or understanding of governing. WHY? Because once they get into a PUBLIC governmental office they realize they can't do the crap they espouse and have a functioning city/community. Not to mention Howrylak would like nothing more than to dismantle the local K-12 funding. So be warned about the future of Troy Schools if he is voted in.
Daniels is all over the map and because she knows that everything she believes is not possible to operate our city, thus the silence at the budget sessions. So, she talks about and votes on "principles" to stay in line with her club. But she knows that there was no money for the library, that the transit center money was not going to pay down the debt and that $7 increase in refuse was less costly than privatizing, and that MML is important to the city (thus her desire to to there to network). So basically everything she says is hyperbolic. There is no there, there.
Please voters of the 11th, Troy and Clawson. Please get out and vote for some sanity and respectable representation.
RECALL JANICE DANIELS! Vote for DR. TAJ. Vote Mary Kerwin.

    1. I didn't think of it that way, i.e., we could be literally Tea Party, on the city, state and national level. This is scary to think that my representatives would be people whose base are conspiracy-theorists and who go off on rampages against evil socialism.

I know how I am voting but if the majority of Troy goes the other way I don't know if this is the place for me and my family. Pretty landscape...but underneath what lurks!
