Deb DeBacker sure hates Democrats...

But wouldn't they be half of her constituents?
See her latest campaign flier -- Yikes!!!!
And since I know her hubby sometimes comments here -- how is she going to restore families? What does that even mean?

  2. She will wage WAR on all the DEMOCRATS and, of course, OBAMA!!! Oh my.

Can this country ever recover from the lack of civility and disintegration of usefll political discourse?

    1. Now I wish I would have voted for DeBacker - since I heard she would have waged war on all Democrats & Obama!! You people are making this City a joke with all the bickering & bloging! Doesn't anyone have a job to do? Their seems to be a lot of idle time.

    2. Ha ha!! Cracks me up when someone who has time to read and comment wants to ask how anyone else has time to read and comment! Hypocrite!!!

  4. It seems like a good representation of her - angry, bitter woman.

  5. Wow, so partisan politics is essentially all DeBacker has to offer? Do you believe me now about animals that eat their young and DeBacker now? What a nasty, mean spirited individual. Nothing about what she will do for the constituents in that district, just fight anyone who doesnt share her bizarre views which are excessive even for the right wing.

I received about 5 campaign pieces from she and MH this weekend. Her lit has such a negative, jugular slashing tone, it is hard to find anything to like about her in it. What happens if she doesn't win? Will she refuse to support Martin or Matt, her fellow Republicans? Will all be forgiven and forgotten?
    We shall see.
BTW... I saw in the newspaper that DeBacker donated $85,000 to her campaign for State Rep. Remembering how much money she put toward thwarting the library millage, I did some math. Not knowing anything about her home value, but just estimating high for a big house; at $300 per year for the library millage, that $85,000 would have paid for 283 years of library. I guess she figures she will get a tax-payer check and benefits and maybe a pension from the state so it is worth the 85K.

  7. It's not surprising that Gosselin endorsed her.

  8. This Independent was going to vote Republican figuring they would be the eventual winners in November. But I just can't do it after reading all the negative literature coming to my doorstep and I'm disgusted with the mess that McCotter left. So I will be voting as a Democrat and hopefully helping Dr. Taj win the primary.

    1. Ha, changed my mind! I will be voting on the Republican side for Matt Pryor. He or Mary Kerwin is my preferred candidate. The Dems don't need my vote in this primary.

  9. She's being supported by the Gosselin camp. Another member of the camp recently accused a former President of the Troy Republicans of being a DEMOCRAT! He didn't agree with her, hence, he must be a democrat. Please!

  10. I am surprised the Detroit Free Press gave her an endorsement. Makes you think twice about newspaper credibility.

It sure does. I was just thinking this very thnought the other day when looking at the Troy Patch.

  11. What's interesting is that Stephen Henderson of the Detroit Free Press in his MIWeek show on 6/22 indicated that if the recall of Janice Daniels got on the ballot, Janice "would be toast." Aren't Deb Debacker and Janice in the same camp?

    1. Janice and her gang (minus Gosselin) have endorsed Howrylak, so I don't know whether it's because Debacker refused Janice's endorsement or didn't ask for it. I'm sorry I missed Debacker in my neighborhood during her campaign walk, it would have been interesting to talk to her and see (off the record) what her thoughts were on Janice Daniels performance as Mayor. Though I do recall now she was caught on tape as a Janice supporter at the Community Center when Janice was running away from the press last year.

  12. At the council meeting where everyone was protesting Janice's "gay statement" to children, Deb got up to speak and the first thing she said to Janice was "I don't like how you are running this meeting", with an angry scowl on her face. So what is the strategy to neutralize her? A vote for Martin makes me sick, a vote for Matt seems like a waste. All I know is that the only pragmatic, calm voice in this pool is Mary Kerwin. Party be damned, you have to go with the best candidate.

  13. This is simply the state of the American political system; which, historical research will confirm has been a fact since the founding of our nation. Please note: I find it unappealing.
Let us be honest, the other side does it also. Don't believe me? Look at the political ads and statements made by ALL politicians. Don't give the Democrats a pass, be consistent. Listen to the Hanson Clarke radio ad attacking Gary Peters, clearly race baiting.
Personally, I don't care what strategy she, or others, utilize when running for partisan political office. Unfortunately, she brought this approach to our non-partisan City Council.

  14. Mary Kerwin cares about Troy. She would represent her constituents as opposed to the other candidates who would only represent the masters who pull their strings. (DeBacker, Howrylak, etc). For mayor, you could have had Beltramini and not a headache. Instead voters opted for JD and a migraine. Maybe this time they'll get it right?
